Middleville Summer Rec Program Kick-off

Welcome to Our e-Village
This is where we of Middleville, New York, meet to share what we know about living here, in the foothills to the Adirondack Mountains.
Feel free to share the good and the bad. If you know the details of some good news, leave a post. If there is trouble or crime you want to report, leave that for us as well.
Confidential reports can be emailed to us at: middleville@gmail.com. You can send pictures there if you don't know how to post them, and we will post them for you. If you want us to send details to the state patrol without posting them, we will do that, too. Basically, feel free to use this site in any way you find useful, or think that your neighbors will feel useful.
Of course, we will be editing out nasty stuff, so there is no need to post it in the first place.
There is so much good stuff going on here in Middleville that we just wanted to give everyone a place to share their thinking. Consider this your electronic village, where you can get to know each other and the wonderful place we live.
Wishing there was a important and historical story behind the naming of our village, here is the truth - it was suggested at a town meeting in 1808 in a moment of jest. Perhaps lacking a local venerable character after which to name it, and apparently rejecting the idea of naming it after the sitting President (Jefferson), as was a common practice, the meeting stalled in disagreement. Finally, someone suggested it should reflect the fact that we sat somewhere in the middle between Newport and Herkimer.
Maybe it was the dinner bell ringing, or maybe the cows needed to be milked, but that was a moment where agreement was found, and Middleville was born.
